Amelia is one of the lucky children to be sponsored in 2015. She'll be learning Music in Fiztnells in Epsom and you can see how much she progresses over the year.
Update from Mum (Date: 10/09/15)
Amelia has been attending her classes every Saturday morning. Amelia loves going to Fitznells Percussion Classes (2-4 years). After the long summer break the mention that next Saturday morning we were going to music lessons at Fitznells put a BIG smile on her face and instantly she started clapping her hands to minims, crotchetes and quavers. Saturday morning are one of the highlights of the week for our 3 year old and, it is fair to say, a highlight for Daddy too as it is their uninterrupted one to one time each week.
Amelia was never particularly slow in coming forward it is fair to say but Fitznells has helped developed her confidence to get up, when it is her turn to perform a solo, and play her instrument nice and loud and proud. You can see the concentration and enjoyment written all over her face. Amelia has also become very good at sitting quietly and listening when everyone else has their turn. Fitznells doesn't particularly give Amelia a challenge, at least not one she is aware of, but instead develops her skills gently each week as we go. The only challenge I would say we have is for Amelia to be confident to stand up and perform some of the singing/action songs. She is happiest when a triangle is in her hands!
Minims, crotchets and quavers are now embedded in her vocabulary, as are the tempos for each. More confidently to participate in the action songs and to always recognise the notes first time with confidence.
