Four Reasons Not To Be A Children's Entertainer

Starting a children’s entertainment business can be a fantastic career move. As your own boss, you can build a business that works for you, and the start-up costs are often quite small. And what can be better than putting smiles on the faces of children?

That said, it’s not everyone’s idea of the perfect job. So before you launch yourself headlong into a new business that may not suit you, read four reasons why NOT to become a children’s entertainer.

1) You don’t like children

There’s one thing you can’t avoid if you’re a children’s entertainer, and the clue is in the job title! But seriously, if you really don’t like children, this isn’t the job for you.

2) You can’t work weekends

Most children’s parties take place at the weekend. So if for any reasons weekends are tricky for you, it’s probably wise to set your career sights elsewhere.

3) You don’t like being the centre of attention

As a children’s entertainer all eyes are (hopefully!) on you. So if standing up in front of a crowd of children, all waiting impatiently to be amused, strikes fear into your heart, then steer well clear.

4) You’re not good at selling yourself

Unless you can afford the services of a marketing or PR agency, you’ll need to learn how to market yourself if you want to build a successful children’s entertainment business.

But don’t worry if you’re not confident right now. Join KalliKids and not only will we help promote your business to our network of parents, but you’ll have access to marketing and social media tools that teach you how to put your business firmly on the map.
