KalliKids is looking for 22 children to sponsor in 2014!

Children in Sussex and Surrey are being offered the chance to learn a new skill as part of a new sponsorship scheme.

KalliKids’ Sponsor My Child, which launches in January 2014, will enable children to have a unique experience learning something completely new, be it swimming, piano, dance, tennis or even maths. The initiative has been created to encourage children to try something new and develop skills through fun activities.

The scheme is running in locations across Sussex and Surrey, offering a range of activities and services to suit every child, including singing, piano, tennis, martial arts, dance and theatre. Parents can apply for their child to be sponsored for a year by completing a short application form available at KalliKids.com/Sponsor-My-Child by February 2, 2014.

Once the applications have been received and evaluated, KalliKids will announce their 22 sponsored children and introduce them to their new activities. They will be monitored throughout the year to see how they progress.

Karen Bach, founder of KalliKids, said: “We’re launching Sponsor My Child to help children discover new interests and talents. A new activity is not only an opportunity to gain a new skill, but is also a great way of aiding a child's social development, building confidence, a way to have fun and to keep the kids entertained.

“Throughout each child's journey we will document their progress via regular blog posts and photos. We will also film their development throughout the year. Children who are old enough will be encouraged to write about their experience and how much they are learning. This will inspire other children to try new activities too.

“Once the year has finished the children will have the option to take part in an awards ceremony, to celebrate their hard work and achievements”.

KalliKids is the first online guide helping parents find approved children’s activity and service providers. Choosing a KalliKids accredited provider gives the reassurance that they have been checked and recommended by other parents. Each activity or service is referenced with at least three families and proof of qualifications must be provided in order to gain accreditation.

Karen added: “The KalliKids website is very easy to use - a quick postcode search brings up a list of recommended activities and services for children and their locations.

“We now have over 220 accredited service and activity providers from children’s photographers and chiropractors to activities such as dance, tennis, cookery, swimming, maths, creative play and much more. Not only are our providers recommended and referenced by at least three families, they are then accredited and checked by us. It’s our aim to support both parents and local activity providers and KalliKids does just that!”
