An exciting multi-sport and skills coaching programme for boys and girls of traditional and non-traditional sports. Delivered in a fun, energetic and safe environment.
Sessions are based on fun, games and development of skills such as passing, catching, kicking, and fielding. Children will also develop core motor skills, hand/eye co-ordination, and foot/eye co-ordination. Children will learn to share, and take it in turns. The children will work individually or in a team.
Sessions will develop the childs physical capacities and fundamental movement skills whilst being active and having fun. These sessions provide an introduction to try many sports and discover which sports they enjoy, whilst developing the strength of becoming an all-round sports performer.
They will build on skills such as running, jumping, throwing, catching, kicking, and striking with an implement by taking part in net/wall activities, striking and fielding, invasion and athletic activities.
These sessions will further develop children’s fundamental movement and specific sport skills. Sessions are more structured and introduce competition either individually or as a team. Children will participate in a wide range of net/wall games, striking and fielding games, and invasion games.
Catterick touch rugby offers thrill, excitement, and the camaraderie of the traditional game but without the high impact of tackling. Players are less likely to suffer an injury that would be possible in a full contact game. Both of my boys go to Edusize. I really like the size of the classes, it's great that they're not too big. Sarah keeps the classes small, so the children get to know her and each other very well. I like the mix of skills the children learn, rugby and other skills too. Edusize are particularly good with sportsmanship and team work. My boys are very energetic and like to be constantly doing something different, the rhythm at Edusize works well for both of my guys. Also, Sarah is excellent at reminding me when classes start and finish which is brilliant!
The staff at Edusize are very good with the kids and great with parents too. They have lots of patience and the kids really respond to them. My son, Jake is learning rugby with them. He started with general rugby skills which included counting too and now he is learning how to play the game. Jake has fallen in love with the game of rugby and really likes the idea of playing a grown up game on a proper pitch. He also likes seeing his friends and the guys than run it. It's really nice that team spirit and including everyone is really encouraged.

The rugby sessions are a great activity to do together as father and son, and I've been taking George since he was just 2 years old. It's been nice to expose him to something that I enjoyed as a child, and it's a really fun thing to do. Dave is excellent with the children, and the way he manages them, even if they are shy, really helps the children build confidence both with him and their peers. The approach within the sessions changes as they get older, and where it involved numbers, colours and shapes in the early stages, it's developed into ball skills and physical exercise, still built around fun games and activities. I'd recommend it for all children, girls and boys, as a fun way to get physical and build confidence.
